Embodied Dancers

I am currently piloting a program in which I am extremely passionate about called Embodied Dancers. In this program I have combined my passion for dance and choreography with my ability and desire to help others. This program includes 6 1-hour long coaching sessions specified to your needs and desires. Following these sessions, I will choreograph a solo for you that tells your story, the story that you told me through our time together. This solo can be utilized for anything from auditions and competition, to simply dancing your feelings out in your bedroom. That choice is yours.

Why am I so sure of this program?

I was the guinea pig, I did this for myself before I even actually knew what I was doing. I took life events that I needed to process and choreographed dances about them as a way to express how I felt. I found performing these pieces extremely therapeutic. I was able to find the healing properties of dance, now I want to help others begin their healing journey through dance.

This program can be utilized by anyone; however, I highly recommend it for dancers who fall into any of the following categories:

Going into senior year, looking at college and what the future holds
Struggles with diagnosed mental health conditions of any kind
Have low self-esteem, struggling with any transition in life, or just generally feel like they could be doing better in life

Steffani DiPilato: Coach and Choreographer

My name is Steffani. I am 25 years old and have been dancing for 20 of those years. I have studied various styles of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, Irish, lyrical, contemporary and modern. I am drawn to the lyrical/contemporary styles because of their emotional components and perform primarily in these styles now.

I have been a competitive dancer for 15 years and choose to continue competing as an adult for the performance opportunities. I have choreographed almost every solo that I have ever performed. While I am not the most technical dancer, I have won awards for the emotional connection I have to my pieces. This is a skill I bring to each piece of choreography by making sure that whomever the dancer is, they have a connection to the story they are telling.
